KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL: A Celebration of Diversity and Culture within Ilocanos





      



Go farther in the part of northern luzon and you can find a province named Ilocos Sur. Ilocos Sur is rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. One of its remarkable annual festival is the Kannawidan Festival, a fushion to show the province's rich heritage, tradition and culture.

Because of these, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur conceived a festival that will highlight these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. They call it the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival, it is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818.

Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already. Children of today are paying more attention to the modern and novelty dances they seen on the television than the traditional ones. There is also a need to evaluate the different products of the different municipalities and the agricultural products and livestock of the farmers and fisher folks.

Furthermore, Kannawidan is a time given to the Ilokanos to look back on what the history has contributed. Indeed, we need to learn the past to know because it helps us understand why we live the way we are living and why we are where we are as  species and country. Studying history allows us to learn from the mistakes of our ancestors so we do not do the same things they did and work to become a better place.

Last year was an immense breakdown for my family. My two grandparents passed away and we're still mourning. But it was a good year at least. I traveled to Thailand, I started debating, and I turned 17 which is cool. Despite of the dramas that happened in the year 2019, I was able to stand up. Values Month; beyond the barriers of values education

      This month, another tremendous event has been brought by the people behind the success of the Values Month Celebration. It is a time where students and teachers extend their learning experience through the activities prepared by the ESP Department and ESP Club.    In this case, the students will fully understand the significance of Values Education. REFLECTION

Another chapter has ended. Learning something new is very exciting and interesting. It may be be hard but i am sure that it'll be helpful and make things more beautiful if we applied what we have learned. This 3rd grading of ICT 10 is very hard. For me, it is hard to understand and learn how to put some designs in your own web page. You have to look every single detail of your work because it will not appear what you want to see in your page if you don't review your page twice or thrice. You may disappoint your self if it gone wrong and you have no choice, you have to edit it again and again until it will work. In this grading, it also taught me that you should have a better understanding. Also, patience and determination is also learned. It may seem hard but if you have these, you can make your work more better than what you expected.
