What is it I want to share to the world?

SOURCE: https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/help-stop-spread-coronavirus-and-protect-your-family            The world has been in chaos for almost a year now. Coronavirus has affected us so much. But one things for sure is that we will always find a cure. Now, as a part of the community, we also want to make difference in this time of pandemic.         These unfortunate events have led many people to be disconnected from society. This has allowed my mind to go to the dark side, where my fears come out. My main fear is “How long will my life be on pause?” I’m afraid of how long I will be stuck in the house and can’t see my friends and have my normal life back. Yet, I set aside my fears and thought of things I can help.       "What is it I want to share to the world?" I want to share to the world how little things could be a big help in combating coronavirus. For instance, by simple following the safety guidelines and protocols amended by our LGU.        We heal as

REFLECTION: Farewell, my friends

It felt like yesterday when it was the year 2016 when I took the bait and fell for a trap. It feels like yesterday was the scenario of 4 years ago, the time when I have to adjust to a new environment that was forcefully shoved in my plate. Looking back, I will never regret that I have exited a home with the same old grounds, walls, and routines I had been doing for 8 years because if I haven’t took that big leap, I wouldn’t have been the person I am today, I would have been safe-kept in a box and would have been clueless of what happens on its outside. For this, I will always be thankful for my parents and relatives who went to challenge the unbelievable and convinced me to be a part of ISNHS. Everything went uphill when I entered this school, I have gained friends that I’ll definitely keep ‘til whenever despite being completely strangers at first, brought me places farther than I have imagined, learned the reality of how harsh life is but also learned how to ride and ta

Hopes and Dreams in a Nutshell

Image
Dreams are necessary. Without dreams, there will be no ambition to chase. There will be no goal to reach. We will all be nothing without dreams. Not having dreams is like chasing a traceless murder. It is like following an invisible shadow. It is a dreadful goose chase. We must know what we want to do and follow that ambition. We can’t achieve anything in life without goals, and for these goals, we need to dream. Most people have dreams. Big ones or small ones. Even the most successful people had dreams and that is what has made them what they are today. Dreaming is essential for a human being. Without dreams, you will lose interest in life and finally hate to live life. You will be bored and tired of the same monotonous routines of your daily life and will not even find interest in the most exciting things. Only with dreams, will you find a purpose to live your life. You will start working hard towards the dream and will never lose interest in life. You will never tire and

Foundation Day is an important milestone each year, where we show our gratitude for the wisdom, courage and commitment demonstrated by those who contributed to the establishment of the school. Foundation Day gives us a sense of mission and purpose. Why should we set aside a time in the busy life of a school year to celebrate Foundation Day? We celebrate so that we do not forget the vision of the people who established it, so that we make new again the vision which has inspired the School for the last years. It is a day of remembrance, a day of honoring, a day to celebrate what has been achieved over the past years, and a day to look forward to what is yet to come. This day stands as a reminder to us that when we forget our history, we move into an uncertain future. We celebrate the Day to maintain the school’s principle, so that the teachers, the staff, and the students will be reminded of it. However, overtime, we lose the real essence of foundation day. It felt l

KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL: A Celebration of Diversity and Culture within Ilocanos

Image
Go farther in the part of northern luzon and you can find a province named Ilocos Sur. Ilocos Sur is rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. One of its remarkable annual festival is the Kannawidan Festival, a fushion to show the province's rich heritage, tradition and culture. Because of these, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur conceived a festival that will highlight these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. They call it the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival, it is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818. Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already. Children of today are paying more attention to the modern an

It always begins in oneself :)

C hange. 5 letters. A word that is easily pronounced, but is hard to do. Change. To become different. To become something else. Change. Why do people change? How do you change? Change happens, whether we like it or not. It's a never ending cycle in our world. Tomorrow will be different than today. We can resist, but that is a bit like standing in a river and trying to hold back the water – useless. We have a choice to watch change passively happening around us, or to participate and lead it. Changes are taking place on all levels, from simple to complex; whether the minuscule transformations of our brain cells to the political crises unfolding around the world. Some changes we can manage, some we can influence, but realistically, most are outside our control. Change always starts in you. No one can change you but yourself. Unless if you don't change the bad habits you're constantly doing, it's always gonna stay like that. If you want to do

Long live Vigan!

Vigan City fiesta is one of the biggest events in the Province of Ilocos Sur.  It is held every January 25 and it features different activities that nourished and promotes our diverse cultures as  Bigueños.                        The fiesta itself is a manifestation of the Bigueños' love for the history and tradition of Vigan City. The Vigan City  fiesta have been a “balik-bayan” incentives, or come-ons for expatriates, to visit or come back for good to the town. Showcasing different cultures of  Bigueños, the City Government of Vigan presents the Longganisa Street dancing Competition, Longganisa Cookfest, and more.  But more than the fun that the town fiesta grants, it is a commemoration of conversion of St. Paul.          The fiesta is here to stay to keep  Bigueños  reaching out to the future as they stake out in the present while reminiscing the past.              SOURCE:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Costume_Festival
